I started using this sight for equipment upgrades http://www.lootrank.com/
You can start off with their class templates, and tweak to your liking. I recommend researching some stat weights from the number crunchers that lurk on sites dedicated to your specific class.
For example, I prefer the stat weights on dwarfpriest.com for holy priest over the sample templates.
You can also enter your character to get a list of the biggest upgrades for you.
